Russ is extremely knowledgeable in every mechanical aspect. If he encounters an issue that he is unsure about, he will …consult with his resources. The one thing he won’t do is take your car apart looking for something to rack up the prices like other mechanics do. Russ and his staff will keep you in the loop the entire time. If something additional comes up, you will be the first to know. I personally will never use anyone else.

What a great experience. Russ was polite and professional, as well as right on time. He diagnosed the problem with our vehicle right away and had it repaired quickly. We found his pricing very competitive even though he had to drive all the way to Incline Village to complete the repair. We will definitely call on Amaru Automotive again if the need arises and would highly recommend him to anyone needing quality work!

Russ is my mechanic from now on. I have used Russ two times and could not be happier. The first time he replaced my front axle wheel bearings on my Dodge Ram. The next one I had him repair my sons alternator. Make an appointment and if he is running a bit behind you will get a call before your wondering if you were forgotten. Fair, square old school type mechanic. Not the type trying to sell or push unnecessary parts. Try him once you will be sold.

What fantastic service! My car’s alternator had gone out and was stuck at home, so I figured I’d try a mobile repair service. I left a message for Russ yesterday, he called me last night with an estimate (right at what I had calculated) and was able to fit me in today. He arrived 10 minutes early, got right to work and finished up in well under an hour. Excellent service, reasonable & convenient! Highly recommend this local business owner!

I cannot thank Amaru Automotive repair enough. I noticed that the outside of my car smelled of anti-freeze and was loosing gas. The next day I drove to work then after work my car won’t start. I called around and was told by several shops that I most likely had a blown head gasket $$!!!$$$!!!
I called Amaru and the next he came looked at my car and said it was a cracked radiator. He immediately sent me a quote for repair. I thought the price was fair and very reasonable. He ordered the part and stopped my home and fixed my car.
As a female, I am always leery of auto repair places. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of or overcharged.

This guy does not give up ! Thanks Russ :)..after putting in a new starter my grandson’s truck would still not run, finding out that injectors were part of the problem. Working 2 hrs charging for only 1 hr labor. and the diagnostic. Rescheduled for Saturday, we bought the injectors he put them in 1 1/2 labor and we were off and running. Recommended an oil change before we even moved the truck which we did. He is professional, works the whole time, and makes sure his work is complete. The most HONEST mobile business we have found. Call him, you will not be disappointed !

I brought my 2007 Honda Odyssey in to have the alternator replaced. While it was in there I also had him replace the timing belt and water pump. Russ, the owner of the shop, was extremely helpful in getting my car fixed in a timely manner, I feel like my car came out of his shop running better than when I bought it a few years ago. His prices are fair compared to other mechanics in the Reno area. I really appreciate that I was able to go on a Saturday when they are closed to pick up my car from him, I’m definitely going to be going back to this business and recommending him to my friends and family for their automotive needs. This place is top-notch and excellent work done for what I needed.

Amaru is a fair and honest place to get your car repaired. I needed work done on my van and I got a fair quote from Russ at Amaru Automotive. It wasn’t give away cheap but also not an” oh my God” amount either. I scheduled a time and got my van repaired. I got my invoice and it was exactly what I was quoted. No special charges or fees. They also stopped my van to tell me a couple of sensors that I needed to clear a code which they didn’t charge me for.
I have fired many auto repair and tire services for adding various fees to enhance their profits but Russ at Amaru Automotive has earned my business just being honest.

Russ was here on time – that’s always a big plus with me. It appears his truck in very well equipped. My brothers Jeep had been sitting for a long time and he wanted to get it roadworthy again. Russ checked and adjusted everything and was done quickly. I will certainly be calling him again for a few other things.

The office manager, Jeana was so helpful and patient with all my questions. She was amazing putting everything together to get our truck in for service. She helped arrange for towing, diagnostics, and service. Kudos to Russ and his staff for taking our truck on Wed. and we were able to pick it up on Thursday. We were so impressed with their professionalism and customer care. An awesome young mechanic who worked on our truck offered to put in the battery we brought for us. I never felt like they were taking us for a ride, but we’re honest and fair with their prices. We would definitely recommend Amaru Automotive.

I was traveling for my weekly long visit in Reno when I got an error code on my Cadillac Escalade. Not residing in Reno, I sought Yelp reviews for a automotive repair man. I really liked that Russ offers mobile automotive repair and that he had great reviews. While he was very heavily scheduled, he realized I needed to get my truck fixed in order to travel back home to Oregon. He was able to fit me in and came to repair the vehicle where I was staying. He confirmed the diagnostic code which I had also discovered. There were potentially two issues that needed repair. After replacing my spark plugs, Russ informed me that I would not need the ignition coil. After settling my bill and tipping Russ, I thanked him for his honesty and integrity. He could have easily fooled me into thinking I needed both items repaired. A truly honest mechanic! I would not hesitate to recommend Russ and his automotive service and would certainly hire him without hesitation if the need arises in the future. Thank you Russ

Of the several repair shops we contacted for a rough estimate, Russ was the only one that was able to provide a quote over phone/email. We were specific on the repair needed with understanding that costs would vary depending on what needed to be done if additional repairs were needed. Most places wanted us to bring the vehicle in even though it wasn’t drivable (meaning we’d have to pay for a tow). The truck was towed to a shop while we were waiting on quotes and they came back with vague uncertainty of what was wrong and quoted a minimum of $1k to figure it out, meaning they weren’t even sure what could be wrong and could not commit to fixing it, but wanted just over a grand. This was while talking to me, a female who admittedly doesn’t know much about cars. Red flag was raised when I googled the supposed repairs and the $1k quote was alarmingly high (exceeded the range of costs reported by a wide margin) My husband called back with some questions before authorizing any work and suddenly they were backpedaling on what needed to be done and how much, pretty much a red flag to me when a male vs female customer gets different treatment.
I called Amaru back with the supposed repair/replacements needed and he gave me a solid quote with breakdown of parts/time for labor. He showed up on time and got to work. He explained what he would do and said he would try to salvage some parts instead of replacing. He showed my husband the parts in question before and after he was able to fix/degunk it, which conveyed honesty to us (other shop has always been vague about what work they needed to do, hesitant to actually show us). His efforts to salvage the part instead of just replacing it saved us over $200. He was professional and kind to me, my husband, and my curious child.
Russ saved my family time and money. He fixed the issues just slightly over his initial quote even though it required some additional work. He also was able to fix it within 2 days despite it falling on a holiday week, where the other shop said they wouldn’t even get to start until 5 days later. He was specific and straightforward and we will definitely trust him with our car repair needs. Thank you!
